Limit Less family physics events toolkit
Supporting our members to organise successful events for families and their children who are curious about physics.
The Limit Less campaign aims to empower parents to talk positively about physics to their children at home. We know that physicists can play an important role in supporting parents to do this, both by sharing your expertise and the diversity of your backgrounds and passions with them.
One way of doing this is for you, our members, or any physicist, to organise events for families that place the campaign messages alongside hands-on explorations of real-world physics.
To help you do this, the Institute of Physics (IOP) campaign team has produced a toolkit resource, Family events designed for impact, which you can download for free.
Webinars to help with toolkit
To reach all of the parents that need to hear the messages of the Limit Less campaign, we need your help. If IOP members and volunteers connect with parents in your local area, we can get the messages across and create the change that we need to see.
You’ll have the full support of the campaign team and local IOP staff, including a webinar discussion all about the toolkit and what a family campaign event might look like for you.
The webinars will be a chance for you to ask questions about how to use the toolkit to run impactful family events, include a discussion of the case-study event at the Festival of Physics in Stroud, and offer some practical tips on inclusivity when working with under-represented groups.
There are three upcoming opportunities to join a webinar:
To order print copies of the Family events designed for impact toolkit, please email [email protected]. We would love to see them in the hands of as many IOP members, volunteers, and physicists as possible.
