Attending an IOP event: What to expect

We have opened our London headquarters for events and meetings with appropriate controls in place, to enable us to enjoy the benefits of face-to-face meetings while minimising the risk of COVID-19 infection to our visitors and staff.

The revised guidance under which we will operate events and meetings in our building and at other venues is set out below.

Before and when you arrive

Anyone attending one of our events is encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless they are unable to be vaccinated) and we ask that they take a negative lateral flow test before they attend.

People arriving at our events will have their temperature checked and are asked to use hand sanitisers and to check in using the QR code and the NHS COVID-19 smartphone app.

Please do not attend in person if you are experiencing any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:

  • A persistent dry cough - where you have been coughing a lot for more than an hour or have had three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours. If you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual.
  • A high temperature - where you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
  • A loss or changed sense of taste or smell.

If you are unable to attend in person due to COVID-19 symptoms, please email [email protected] to ask about possible online options.

During the event

Everyone at our events will need to maintain one metre social distancing from other attendees.

You will also need to wear a mask whilst walking around, unless exempt, except when eating.
