Lancashire and Cumbria Branch

The Lancashire and Cumbria branch is one of 11 regional branches in England, and part of a wider network of IOP activity across our Nations including Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

We have activity centres based across both counties, in Preston, Fylde Coast, Carlisle, Lancaster and Workington.

Our activities

We organise talks, visits and engagement opportunities in the Lancashire and Cumbria region, and work locally to promote physics, physics education and public understanding of physics.

Whether you are a physicist or just interested in physics, then do join us at one of our events. They are not restricted to members – on the contrary, we warmly welcome everyone.

If you are interested in finding out more, or getting involved, please contact the regional manager Allison Vickers: [email protected].
