IOP Ireland Physics Hub and CPD workshop
IOP Ireland Physics Coaches provide a range of support for teachers, including CPD workshops, day meetings and online forums.
The IOP Ireland Physics Hub is an online hub for teachers to share ideas and resources with a focus on how to facilitate the teaching and learning of physics through active engagement.
At each 45-minute meeting there will be a blend of short presentations and opportunities to discuss and ask questions. Find details of all upcoming teacher support events.
Annual Frontiers of Physics Teacher Conference
The IOP Ireland hosts an annual teacher conference in September for all teachers of physics (specialist and non-specialist) including newly qualified and trainee teachers.
Teachers are invited to attend a series of talks and take part in a selection of interactive workshops which will benefit the teaching of physics at junior and Leaving Certificate levels.
The 2020 conference featured keynote speaker, Professor Jens Dolin, of University of Copenhagen, with a focus on how teachers can adapt to new approaches in physics teaching and learning in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
