The UK Symposium on Materials for Sustainability hosted by the Institute of Physics and Keele University is organised by several IOP special interest groups and the Keele Materials Science community. This symposium aims to bring experts to share recent advances and discuss new opportunities and challenges in the development of materials for a more sustainable future. This event follows up on the previous three iterations of the workshop on materials for sustainability in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The UK Symposium on Materials for Sustainability will be held in-person at Keele University. This event is free, but registration is required.

The workshop welcomes participation from across the breadth of materials science and has included oral and poster sessions on a range of subjects including, but not limited to:

  • 2D materials
  • Nanomaterials and composites
  • Polymers
  • Energy capture/storage materials
  • Quantum materials
  • Superconductors
  • Computational and ab initio methods.
