UK Plant Biomechanics Conference 2025

The UK Plant Biomechanics conference is a one-day, in-person event that will showcase recent advances in research of the biomechanics of plants - from mechano-cell and developmental biology to structural functions and food materials research. Plant biomechanics is a multifaceted research topic and benefits from cross-disciplinary collaboration that provides new perspectives and pioneers new approaches for deciphering the link between plant form and function.

The goals of the conference are to celebrate the emerging plant biomechanics community, to enable the sharing of knowledge, equipment, methodologies and resources, and to sow the seeds of future research collaborations! All researchers, at any career stage, are invited to join. Participation is not limited to the UK - researchers from other countries are welcome to join the network. We are particularly keen to give early career researchers the opportunity to meet with like-minded people and to gain access to support and guidance from experienced researchers. The day will provide a forum to exchange ideas, discuss research problems and solutions, make new connections, and highlight the work of early career researchers (ECR). Our aim is that the event will strengthen the dynamic and supportive plant biomechanics research community both within the UK and beyond!
