Space Traffic Control
Speaker: Dr Stuart Eves
This talk will explain why we need to do a much better job of monitoring both the natural space environment, and the manmade objects that we have launched into orbit around the Earth.
About the Speaker
In 2018, Stuart Eves founded his own space consultancy company, SJE Space Ltd, after a 30 year career working for the UK Ministry Of Defence and Surrey Satellite Technology Limited. Stuart’s 2017 book entitled “Space Traffic Control” describes the measures needed to maintain the space environment and protect satellites from both natural hazards and manmade threats. Stuart has an MSc in Astrophysics, a PhD in satellite constellation design, and has been a fellow of both the Royal Astronomical Society and the British Interplanetary Society for more than 30 years. He’s not an astronaut, but he is an astro-nut!
