This talk will outline the challenges, not all of which are just engineering issues, facing our attempts to provide reliable, safe and clean energy for the future.

About the Speaker

Mike McLean is Chief Engineer and Market Lead for the SMR/AMR market in AtkinsRéalis, one of the world’s foremost Nuclear Consultancies. With experience in Fusion Reactor design at UKAEA and previous work on conventional GW scale Fission plants as well as current SMRs and AMRs, Mike is well placed to discuss the pros and cons of new approaches to delivering nuclear power as well as the current government plans for Small Modular Reactors.
