The annual meeting for teachers of physics in schools and colleges.

Each year the organising committee, working in cooperation with the education department of the Institute, organises a one-day meeting at Rugby School for teachers of physics in schools and colleges, and teachers in training.

The 31st Annual Meeting for Teachers of Physics in Schools and Colleges will be held on the 5 June 2019 at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire.

This year will feature keynote lectures from Dr Michael de Podesta of the National Physical Laboratory and Dr Rebecca Smethurst, University of Nottingham. The afternoon session will consist of hands-on workshops providing a wonderful opportunity for teachers not only to pick up new ideas and resources, but also offer a platform for discussion and idea sharing.

Costs and bookings

  • Full conference fee: £35 (to cover lunch, refreshments and speakers’ expenses)
  • Discounted conference fee : £30 for IOP members/ affiliated schools or colleges
  • Concession: £15 for NQTs/trainee teachers

Rugby School is unable to provide free onsite parking due to space constraints. Alternative parking will be provided at local car park for a cost of £10 per car.

Bookings will open in March 2019.
