Current position
I teach Physics in Foyle College in Derry, Northern Ireland. I hold the position of Head of Physics, and also Head of Year 11.

  • BSc (Hons) degree in Physics from Queen’s University Belfast
  • PGCE (with Commendation) from QUB
  • Diploma in Guidance & Counselling from UU Magee

My first teaching job was in a boys’ secondary school, St Peter’s High School, where I taught Science and Maths for seven years. I moved to Foyle College in 2000 as a Physics teacher, subsequently becoming Head of Physics and also Head of Year (Middle School). I am a marker for CCEA A-level Physics and also a teacher governor.

Through the IOP, I am working to provide opportunities for teachers to get together and share their ideas and experiences, supporting each other and having fun as we do.
