Top 50 Work Placements Scheme
The IOP's ‘Top50’ Work Placements Scheme is an initiative setup by the IOP to help penultimate year undergraduate physics students gain experience in a business, university or research institution.
The IOP will fund 50 students to carry out eight-week placements in organisations in the UK or Ireland that don’t currently offer paid placements. Each student will receive £2000, or the equivalent in euros.
For both students and employers, this is a highly rewarding scheme. Students receive first-hand experience of working for an organisation committed to physicists and physics. In return, employers gain a fresh perspective and new ideas from their work placement students. To find out more about the benefits of getting involved in the scheme, read about how previous students valued their work placements.
If you are a student and you are interested in applying for a placement, click here to find out more.
If you are an employer that would like to participate in this scheme, click here for information on submitting your placement(s). Please read the terms and conditions to ensure that as a micro, small and medium enterprise, university or research facility you meet the criteria.
The Scheme is now open for 2014.
If you are an employer, email email@example.com with your placement proposal(s).
