International Member Grant
A grant of up to £500 to support members outside of the UK and Ireland to run activities in partnership with their national physics societies.
Members outside the UK and Ireland can apply for funds to:
- arrange networking events for physicists
- run outreach events in their community
- organise activities to benefit the development and/or promotion of physics
How much is the grant
We have an annual fund of £2,000 dedicated to supporting our international members. Typically, we grant up to £500 per activity. However, in exceptional cases where a project is particularly large or involves multiple donors, we may choose to allocate a more substantial amount.
Who can apply
This funding is for members outside the UK and Ireland working in partnership with the physics societies of their countries of residence.
Members are welcome to apply for the grant more than once if they present us with a new idea each time.
When to apply
Applications will open on 17 July 2024. Please apply by midnight on 23 August 2024.

If you are successful
Award winners send us a report shortly after their activity, which outlines what they did. It should be no more than 500 words.
We also ask members to take photos and, if possible, film video – on a mobile phone or tablet is fine. We promote the work that members do with the grant and share this with our wider membership.
