We offer funding in the form of grants, awards and exchange schemes for physicists, teachers, students, schools and colleges.

We support:

  • education at all levels
  • research of new and developing ideas
  • events in the UK and overseas
  • travel for networking and sharing ideas
  • physicists in times of need

Bell Burnell Graduate Scholarship Fund

An innovative fund instigated by leading physicist Professor Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell and the Institute of Physics to encourage greater diversity in physics by assisting PhD physics students from under-represented groups.

Anthony Waterhouse Fellowship

Up to £3,500 for UK teachers of 11- to 19-year-olds who have a physics idea to develop for other teachers. As part of the award we support recipients with links to education researchers and a network of experienced teachers.
