Professor Dame Angela McLean appointed as new UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser

Many congratulations to Professor Dame Angela McLean on her appointment as new UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser (GCSA).  

The Covid pandemic showed us all that scientific research and innovation are vital to the health and wellbeing of the nation and, at the same time, underscored the value of high quality scientific advice in public policy making.  

Science will play an equally important role in securing a sustainable and prosperous post-pandemic future for all in society and Professor Dame Angela’s experience and expertise will be an enormous asset as the UK seeks to become and remain a science superpower.
