Celebrate our community at the IOP’s ‘great physics take-off’ this summer

26 May 2023

Free event set to showcase the importance of physics and physicists – in aeronautical surrounds.

The work of the IOP, the wider physics community, and recent IOP award winners (2020-2022) will be celebrated at the inaugural Celebration of Physics this summer.

Join us for a range of talks, demonstrations and much more at Aerospace Bristol on 27 June – with some under the wings of the Alpha Foxtrot Concorde, the last of its kind to be built and the last to fly.

Delivered by the IOP’s Groups, Nations and Branches, there will be sessions on the importance of British Sign Language support in undergraduate physics teaching, the benefits for the IOP’s retired members in REMNet, and empowering young African physicists, among many others.

IOP Publishing will lead talks on clamping down on research misconduct and how to be more creative, while an IOP Networks session focuses on inclusion.

IOP President Sheila Rowan will also address the event. And there will be a range of exhibitors showcasing some of the great work they are doing.

Registration is free but spaces are limited. Please register to guarantee your place.
