Andrea Barber, Interim Director of People and Organisational Development

Andrea Barber joined the IOP in March 2019 as the Head of People and Organisational Development before becoming Interim Director of People and Organisational Development in March 2024. She is a passionate advocate for people-centric organisations with over 25 years’ experience in human resources and broader operations across the commercial, voluntary and third sector.  

Andrea’s role encompasses driving organisational development and she is responsible for ensuring that the delivery of the people and working environment strategies are based on a strong values-based culture across the organisation and the six nations in which the IOP operates. She leads the People, Learning and Development, Workplace and IT teams and our Transformation Programme which has supported the development of the organisation through the delivery of our previous strategy.   

Prior to joining the IOP Andrea has held senior leadership roles in a range of membership and not for profit organisations in the health sector. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Masters in Personnel and Development and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
