General Trustee: Rosalie Benjamin MInstP

Rosalie is a Systems Engineer at DEA Aviation Ltd. Her role encompasses general IT support, software development, and integrating various systems into aircraft fleet to enable intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.

This includes management of the entire company network infrastructure, assisting with IT issues company-wide, troubleshooting aircraft networks, cameras, and radar systems, and utilising the fundamentals of electrical engineering for the creation and integration of avionics.

Rosalie’s interest in physics was piqued during secondary school where she achieved multiple Bronze and Silver CREST awards, applying basic physics fundamentals to interesting practical situations.

She cultivated a love of aviation through seven years in the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, enjoying the physics of flight and pushing the boundaries during aerobatic flying. Now, Rosalie has a first-class degree in BSc aviation technology with pilot studies and continues to pursue aspirations of becoming a commercial pilot by studying towards gaining a private pilot licence.

As a young Black female in STEM, Rosalie is a keen advocate of unlocking the future of physics through increasing diversity, inclusion and opportunity.
