Defying Gravity: Make Physics your Launchpad

Defying Gravity is the Institute of Physics Schools and Colleges Lecture for 2013. The lecture is presented by Laura Thomas, an independent science communicator with a background in astrophysics.

The space industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK and young people today have a better chance than ever before of growing up to work in the area. This lecture looks at how studying physics and maths could put your students on the fast track to a career in space. How can we get into orbit? What does it feel like to be in free fall around the planet? Physics can give us the answers.

The lecture is also available on CD-ROM. Please email for a copy.
