School sixth forms with no entries for A-level physics: A data report

Department for Education research that was publicised in The Guardian last year stated hundreds of schools were entering no students to A-level physics. This report refreshes that work by using up-to-date data and extends it by including analyses by school size, school type, and gender.

This report details the characteristics of the 235 school sixth forms that had no entries to AS- or A-level physics. In doing so, it explains how the problem is not as significant as it may at first seem, due to the school sixth forms with no physics entries being particularly small.
