A Review of UK Nuclear Physics Research
The review looks at contemporary UK Nuclear Physics: the questions it addresses, the facilities needed to answer them and the applications of science.
It examines the size of the UK nuclear physics community, its funding, the balance between subfields and the division of effort between theory and experiment, and makes a comparison of the UK's research with that of other leading countries.
It is the first in a series of reviews into the major branches of physics in preparation for the next government Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR), which are intended to inform IOP policy.
