Ramin Goldestanian is awarded the EPJE Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Lecture Prize

The prize, which is given by the European Physical Journal E – Soft Matter and Biological Physics, was awarded for outstanding contributions to the field of active matter. He was selected for his outstanding theoretical contributions to the physics of microswimmers and their hydrodynamic interactions, which have led to a series of exciting new discoveries and stimulated the development of the field of active matter.

Goldestanian, who was awrded the IOP’s Fernand Holweck Medal and Prize in 2014, is Professor of Theoretical and Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Oxford. The EPJE Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Lecture will be delivered during the 10th Liquid Matter Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia, which takes place on 17–21 July 2017.
