Nobel Prize-winning physicist Prof. Sir Konstantin Novoselov, who is an honorary fellow of the IOP, has been awarded a Royal Society Research Professorship to support his work on 2D crystals.

Prof. Novoselov, who is renowned for his research on graphene, is now working to search for new 2D atomic crystals and investigate their unique properties.

The Royal Society says its Research Professorship posts provide long-term support for internationally recognised scientists of outstanding achievement and the appointments are usually made for up to 10 years.
