IOP members are recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours

Three IOP members have been recognised in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Professor David Clary, an IOP fellow who is president of Magdalen College Oxford, has been knighted for services to international science. He runs a research group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford and was previously head of the university’s Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

IOP fellow Professor John Campbell Brown, Astronomer Royal for Scotland, has been awarded an OBE for services to the promotion of astronomy and science education. An MBE has been awarded to IOP fellow Brian Lambourn, hydronamic consultant at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE), for services to defence.
