Three employers receive IOP Best Practice in Professional Development Awards

The awards are for organisations that employ physicists and can demonstrate excellence in the way that they train and develop staff and promote work-life balance.

This year’s winners are: AREVA RMC, Cavendish Nuclear Limited, and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).

In their comments, the judges for the award particularly noted that AREVA had robust initiatives in place that were specific to physics; that Cavendish Nuclear Ltd aligned development to competences and promoted a healthy work-life balance, and that NPL had good training and outreach programmes and a good community of physicists who seemed to work well together.

The winners announced today will be presented with their awards, which are valid for three years, at the IOP’s annual Awards Dinner on 29 November 2016.
