IOP takes a stand at national education event

17 January 2014

The IOP ran a popular stand and put on eight workshops at the Association for Science Education’s (ASE’s) annual conference last week.

A seminar on the Institute’s It’s Different for Girls report was among the practical sessions that the IOP offered during the three-day event in Birmingham.

As well as workshops on topics from using football to teach physics, to making the teaching of forces fun by using toys, there was a session on employing research evidence to inform practice.

Hundreds of copies of the IOP’s teaching resources were handed out to people visiting the Institute’s stand, where the IOP team engaged with scores of teachers. The presidential address was given by Prof. Alice Roberts (pictured).
