Institute completes move into 80 Portland Place

3 March 2014

All of the IOP’s London staff have now moved into a wing of the Institute’s Portland Place building while the IOP prepares for relocation to King’s Cross in 2015.

The IOP has sold the leases on its premises at 76 and 80 Portland Place to the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), but has negotiated an agreement to occupy 80 Portland Place as a tenant of RIBA until it is ready for the move to King’s Cross.

The postal address, switchboard number and staff telephone numbers have not changed, and IOP members, visitors and staff will continue to have access to 80 Portland Place. A members’ room with a small members’ drop-in, hot desk facility will be available in 80 Portland Place from 6 March.

The Jackson Ayrton Room and Franklin Theatre are still available to be booked for members’ meetings via the e-mail address. The Jackson Ayrton Room has a capacity of up to 90 people standing or 40 seated, and the Franklin Theatre can accommodate up to 90 people seated.
