The group from the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) were in the UK for a week-long factfinding tour and had specifically asked to come to the Institute.

Responding to requests in advance from the visitors, the IOP provided a talk on training physics teachers, given by the IOP’s director of education and science, Prof. Peter Main, and another on science communication and the mass media, given by the IOP’s head of media, Joe Winters.

The Institute’s director of communications and international relations, Beth Taylor, said: “I was delighted at how interested the group were in finding out about what we were doing and at some of the parallels that you could see between what happens here and what happens in China.”
