IOP is growing fast in Nigeria
19 September 2013
Nearly 1,700 people have now joined the IOP’s branch in Nigeria – with more than 400 of these signed up on a three-day visit to institutions in Ondo State and Ekiti State in June by the IOP Nigeria team.
The branch has also produced an IOP song, which can be heard via the branch’s page on the IOP website.
IOP Nigeria’s chair, Abie Abison (pictured), and the IOP Nigeria team, gave well-attended presentations on the benefits of IOP membership to students and staff at Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo, Ondo State University of Science and Technology in Okitipupa, and Ekiti State University (EKSU) in Ado-Ekiti, during their June visits.
Abison said: “The enthusiasm to hear what IOP Nigeria had to say is certainly there. For example, 300 Level 1 students at EKSU, who were slated for a test the same day, still attended in large numbers to hear the presentation.”
