Occhialini Prize is awarded to Silvia Pascoli

Prof. Silvia Pascoli has been awarded the 2013 Occhialini Medal and Prize.
Prof. Pascoli is Professor of Physics at the University of Durham and deputy director of the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology. The award is given for her “major contributions to the study of, and leadership in, the field of neutrino phenomenology”.
The Occhialini Medal was instituted in 2007 to honour the memory of the physicist Giuseppe Occhialini and is presented jointly by the Institute of Physics and the Società Italiana di Fisica for distinguished work carried out in the 10 years leading up to the award.
The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the Italian Physical Society’s 99th National Congress on 23 September in Trieste, Italy.
