3. Bibliometric evaluation and international benchmarking of the UK’s physics research
This report analyses the performance of UK physics research.  It was commissioned by the Institute of Physics (IOP) from Evidence, a business of Thomson Reuters.  The report complements a more detailed IOP study of UK research in the sub-disciplines that make up physics (Bibliometric evaluation and international benchmarking of the UK’s physics research: Physics and sub-disciplines) which is available on request.  The study was commissioned to provide IOP with data it can use for the development of policy and to contribute to its wider discussion with stakeholders.
