The Institute of Physics (IOP) in Scotland is a scientific membership organisation devoted to increasing the understanding and application of physics.

It has over 2500 members and is part of the Institute of Physics.

The Institute of Physics in Scotland aims to promote the role of physics in education, health, the environment, technology, and scientific literacy. Its membership is wide-ranging and multidisciplinary, including the educational, industrial, medical, and general public sectors. The Institute seeks common purpose with other organisations to promote science and science-based learning and to influence science policy.
