Registered Science Technician (RSciTech)

Registered Science Technicians work in technical roles, providing essential scientific services and support in a variety of workplaces, such as laboratories, schools, universities, and hospitals.

Once registered, you must maintain your status through meeting continuing professional development requirements each year.

You will need to demonstrate competence across five areas by providing examples from your working life, usually within the past five years, that illustrate how you have met each standard. These are then assessed either online or in a face-to-face interview.

Those five areas are:

  • Application of knowledge and understanding
  • Personal responsibility
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Professionalism
  • Professional standards

Apply online via the Science Council.
