Current position
Since ‘retiring’ I still do a lot of work to promote physics and mathematics in the region.
Initial training
I was educated at King Edward V1 G.S. Morpeth, Durham and York University.
Career
After a long and very enjoyable career as a physics teacher and Head of Science in schools, examining physics and teaching on the PGCE Science Course at York University, where I was involved in setting up the Student Tutoring Scheme, I now enjoy writing and delivering exciting packages to schools and STEM fairs.
Personal interests
When not pursuing my interest in writing and promoting physics I enjoy time with my grandchildren, the theatre, opera, art, learning to be a better magician and helping my wife in our allotment garden.
Aim/Mission
I have always been an enthusiastic physics teacher. I want to spread that enthusiasm and help children and their teachers to see that it is a magical subject that gets better and better the more you work at it!
