Career
I have worked in comprehensive and grammar schools in the UK as well as in a part-private school in Malawi, Africa. In addition I have been the West Midlands network co-ordinator for the Physics Enhancement Project.
Aim/Mission
To support all teachers of physics regardless of their original specialism to help them enjoy teaching physics with confidence. Physics cannot be taught as an accumulation of facts; it relies on understanding to be able to solve problems. Secure subject knowledge is important to be able to do this and helping colleagues to do this very rewarding (and fun!)
I am running both standard IOP workshops as well as bespoke events for colleagues at all Key Stages and welcome requests for further workshops. Please email me to make a request or just to be put on my occasional email shot to be made aware of what is happening in our area.
Personal interests
Outside school I am a member of a fantastically supportive church community where I torture people with my lack of timing on rhythm guitar.
