Current position
Teacher of physics, Leek High School. Leek. Staffordshire Moorlands and Regional Advisor for the Science Additional Specialism Programme (SASP).

Initial training

  • BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering (University of Salford)
  • PGCE (University of Keele)

Personal interests
All purpose outdoors fan, rock climbing, caving, canoeing, paragliding, hill and mountain walking. None of it to extreme, preferring the aesthetic to the athletic. I greatly enjoy training and assessing Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme expeditions. My two daughters do of course keep me busy.

Mission statement
Living and working in the North Staffordshire town of Leek I am ideally situated for those in or bordering Staffordshire and the Peak District National Park. I see my role as one of ‘party manager’ getting groups of physics teachers together to swap ideas, enthusiasm and good practice from our local area. By being relevant to those new to physics and the more experienced hoping to update their teaching, I hope to support busy teachers with local meetings, convenient INSET, interesting workshops and perhaps email support.
