Career
Joined staff of Shooters Hill GS, South East London in 1972, later to become Eaglesfield School. Head of Physics and Electronics from 1974 to 1988.  Head of Science/Penaeth Adran Gwyddoniaeth, Ysgol Y Preseli, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro from 1988 to 2009 when I retired from full time teaching, eventually finishing in 2011. Currently PGCE Physics and Balanced Science Tutor in the department of Education and Lifelong Learning at the University of Aberystwyth.

Link with other agencies
I have worked closely with other agencies:

  • A level examiner with OCR for more years than I care to admit; first for Nuffield and then for Advancing Physics
  • Bit role in the revision of Nuffield A level in the early 80's and Advancing Physics more recently
  • Have been involved in curriculum development at CSE, GCSE (and 16+ before it) in Physics and Electronics
  • Ex GCSE coursework moderator for AQA (1994-2004)
  • Few other publications over the years
  • Teacher Fellow in Engineering
  • Regional STEM supporter in west Wales

Professional interest
To help promote and expand good practice in the teaching of physics and to encourage teachers and their students to enjoy physics.
