Subject Knowledge Enhancement
Post-initial teacher training (ITT) subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) courses are designed to increase the physics knowledge of in-service and returning teachers.
If you’re returning to work after a period of time away, you might find a SKE course will help to develop your physics knowledge and increase your confidence in the classroom.
Likewise, if you’re a practicing teacher requiring a boost to your physics knowledge due to a change in role you may also benefit from a physics SKE course.
These courses are run on a grant scheme by a small number of Teaching School Alliances in England, funded by the National College for Teaching and Leadership.
It is also possible for teachers and schools to contract Higher Education Institutions to run courses, though these courses are no longer funded by the NCTL.
