NQT conference July 2011

8 August 2011

The Institute of Physics held its first ever conference for newly qualified teachers on 14 July 2011.

Learning to teach

Celebrating this year’s cohort of new teachers of physics as they completed their Initial Teacher Education, the aim of the event was to ensure that these teachers – whose specialism may be physics, but could also be chemistry, biology or other science – know about IOP teacher support.

The new teachers were encouraged to network with others in their NQT region and to make use of IOP resources as much as possible.

The programme included practical demonstrations from the IOP’s Physics Teacher Network as well as a show-and-tell discussion time and free teaching resources.
