How early should you begin your NQT job hunt?
There’s no easy way to say it: your NQT job hunt is another task to be tackled during the busiest part of your training.
The best time to start thinking about your first position is as early as possible, ideally at the beginning of your second term. The sooner you start looking, the more choice you will have.
But at the same time, this is still relatively early in your training and if you need more time to get used to the idea that you are going to be a teacher, then take it. Rushing into an unsuitable job is a very real risk.
