Brief Description:
Group assignments are to be made in October 2011. Groups will be decided by the project co-ordinator, but students will be allowed to express a preference for a particular project. During the Autumn Term, students will meet the industrial consultant (site visit), and academic consultant, carry out an individual literature survey (individually assessed), and meet to determine any specific equipment needs.

For the Spring Term, the groups will work as a team, holding regular meetings with minutes to record progress. At the end of the project, the groups give a joint presentation and joint report to the academic and industrial consultants. Assessment will include 30% for individual performance based partly on a personal statement of their contribution and a short individual interview
