You said, we did
We’re always looking for ways to improve the services we offer our members, and we’re keen to listen to their opinions on what we do. Below are some examples of when we’ve acted on feedback we’ve received from them.
What you said: “There’s a lack of information regarding physicists – and no physicists in attendance.” (February 2015)
What we did: We’ve informed the company of this comment, and they will ensure that at least one physicist is in attendance in future. In our marketing email, we’ve requested that all companies have at least one physicist in attendance.
What you said: “At least 40% of the students here are women. Some female speakers would have been nice. I was disappointed with the under-representation.” (October 2014)
What we did: There has been an increase in female physicists speaking at our careers events, as we’ve specifically targeted our female members.
What you said: “I would have preferred more speakers, or a slightly longer session” (February 2014)
What we did: We now invite companies to bring along at least three speakers to their event. We understand that one person isn’t enough, especially given time constraints.
What you said: “In this age of social media, I think you ought to consider adding short films of graduates talking about the jobs they have ended up working in.”
What we did: We’ve produced a series of videos called Physics: Design Your Future.
What you said: “The presentation was too long, which made focusing harder.” (February 2014)
What we did: We now ask all organisations to limit their presentation to 30 minutes.
