Trip to Bletchley Park

28 February 2017

The first USN trip of the year was on Sunday 12 February, to Bletchley Park. This site was instrumental in the Allies' victory in the Second World War, and housed some of the country's greatest minds, including Alan Turing.

The day was well attended and included a tour of the original wartime buildings, the grounds of the mansion house and the museum home to the replica of the Colossus computer. It was a wonderful opportunity to see what were, at the time, the most sophisticated computers ever invented, and to learn the stories of the people behind them.

We will be running a similar trip next academic year due to the demand generated.
