Science Policy

 

The Institute works to promote physics through extensive networks within higher education and research. We respond quickly and effectively to government consultations and produce policy papers. We also support physics departments within universities.

The Department of Higher Education and Research Policy falls within the Science Directorate of the Institute.

 

The Institute has initiated a major programme to demonstrate to decision-makers and the public, the opportunities and importance of physics

 

Degree Accreditation

 

The Institute produces reports of its own on key issues, and responds actively to consultations, reports and reviews (by government and others) which affect physics and physics-related activities

 

Projects undertaken by the Institute of Physics and other bodies.

 

The Institute promotes the interests of university physics departments by publishing reports on issues of current concern

 

A new web-based resource presenting details of research in physics undertaken at universities in the UK and Ireland is now available
