Funding

Several organisations, including the IOP, have grant schemes that could help to finance your physics-based outreach activity. For more information about individual schemes, please contact the relevant organisation directly.

Institute of Physics Public Engagement Grant Scheme
The Institute’s public engagement grant scheme provides up to £3,000 to individuals and organisations running physics-based events and activities in the UK and Ireland.

Institute of Physics School Grants Scheme
The scheme provides schools with grants of up to £600 for projects or events linked to the teaching or promotion of physics or engineering.

Science and Technology Facilities Council 
STFC offer a range of grant schemes that are designed to allow their community to meet the aims of their public engagement strategy. Anyone can apply but project teams must have strong links with the Science and Technology Facilities Council's scientific research community. They provide funds of up to £100,000 per project dependent upon the scheme.

Royal Society - Partnership Grants
Grants are available for teachers and scientists or engineers to work together on exciting investigations for 5- to 18-year-olds. The maximum amount awarded is £3,000.
