About Nexus
Discounts, Grants and Bursaries
Members can receive substantial discounts on a range of scientific journals published by the IOP, subscriptions to Astronomy and Geophysics published by the Royal Astronomical Society, and a range of physics and mathematics books published by the Taylor & Francis Group and Oxford University Press.
Members can also receive discounts for attending Institute conferences and some conferences co-sponsored by the Institute or other overseas societies (including the annual Nexus Conference and ICPS), as well as for membership of some other selected organisations, including the Royal Astronomical Society, the Royal Meteorological Society and the Institute of Physics in Engineering and Medicine.
A number of financial support schemes and bursaries are available for individual student members, both undergraduate and postgraduate, including travel bursaries to attend conferences. There is also the Public Engagement Grant Scheme for running physics-based events and activities.
Nexus grants for student-led events or activities are available to affiliated student physics or astronomy societies.
