Nexus operates within eight regions across the UK and Ireland. There are 18 student representatives acting as contacts between student societies, individual members and the IOP. The eight regions, with nominally two representatives each, are: London, South East, Wales and South West (three representatives), Midlands, North West, North East, Scotland and Ireland (three representatives). The distribution of universities with physics departments within these regions is displayed on the Nexus map. The regions are not strictly defined and we encourage interaction between universities across the UK and Ireland.
The Nexus representatives provide essential input and feedback to the improvement of Nexus, promote physics and the Institute within their regions, and help organise events for students. The current list of representatives is below. Representatives can be contacted through the IOP's online member's network, MyIOP. For general enquiries about Nexus, please contact the Membership Development Officer.
