This one day meeting of the Residual Gas Analyser (RGA) Users Group was held on Thursday 13 March 2008 at Culham Laboratory Oxfordshire.
The meeting was organised by the Vacuum Group in conjunction with STFC Daresbury Laboratory (ASTeC Vacuum Science Group) and SS Scientific Limited. There was also a mini-exhibition featuring ten vacuum companies with products on display.
The aim of these meetings is to bring together industrial, academic and research based RGA users with suppliers of RGA’s in a workshop style meeting. There were no invited talks, but 9 contributed talks covering a wide range of topics related to RGA’s.
Throughout the day there was ample opportunity to question the speakers, both formally and informally. As well as stimulating inter-group discussion, the meeting was considered by many as a unique networking opportunity and a highly valued forum for interaction between engineers and scientists with practical vacuum experience.
At the conclusion of the meeting there was a tour of JET.
Thanks to the sponsors, the meeting was free of charge for the 70 delegates who helped to make this meeting another success. Further details can be found at the dedicated website (www.rgausers.org) where the presentations will be posted shortly.
