News from the Electrostatics Group

The Group recently held a one-day conference: Electric Fields and Discharges for Microbiology and Health Care Applications on the 19 May 2005 at the Institute of Physics, London. The conference was a resounding success with over 40 delegates attending. A conference report can be found here.

The Annual General Meeting was also held on the 19 May, with a large attendance. The main item of business was the early resignation of the Chairman, Dr Jerry Ahern. New Group officers were elected at this meeting, with Nicolas Green elected Honorary Chairman and Lindsey Gaunt elected Honorary Secretary. Two new committee members were also elected.
