Trends in dielectrics research: an international review from 1980 to 2004

To review the state of international dielectric research activity, members of the dielectrics group undertook a review of published work in the field.  The review focuses on three questions:

  1. Is dielectrics research in growth or decline?
  2. How is dielectrics research different geographically?
  3. How has the scope of dielectrics research changed with time?

News

The cluster of papers from the 2005 annual group conference to be published in JPhysD will be available on line from 17 March 2006.

It is with a note of sadness that the group marks the recent passing of a number of colleagues who made many excellent contributions to the field of dielectrics, including:

Harry Block
Roland Coelho
Andrew Jonscher
Daniel Kilveson
Arnold Lynch
Herman Schwan

We are sure that they want to wish us well in our continued quest in dielectrics and we extend our condolences to their families and many friends who will miss them.
