Proposed new groups

Several groups have been proposed in recent years.

Physics Communicators Group
The group aims to support members who are undertaking outreach activities and who contribute to the public understanding of physics. 

Interim chair: Averil MacDonald

The Physics Communicators Group is due to be considered by Council at its meeting in November 2008.

A town meeting also took place 11 July where potential members of the group has an opportunity to discuss the formation of the new group including its aims and activities. A meeting report is available here.

Particle Accelerator and Beams Group
The group aims to provide a professional focus and forum for physicists in the area of particle accelerators and beams.

Interim chair: Mike Poole

The Particle Accelerator and Beams Group is due to be considered by Council at its meeting in November 2008.

A town meeting took place 24 September.  A meeting report is available here. 

Nonlinear and Complex Physics Group
The Nonlinear and Complex Physics Group aims to stimulate interest and advance progress in the study of nonlinear processes and complexity in the physical sciences and its application to other disciplines.

Interim chair: Tom Mullin

This group is now official and available to join.
